How the game works
Levels, HackBox, and AI
Start on the level map, read the lesson, answer the quiz, and earn XP/coins. HackBox levels are safe simulated terminal labs — never real targets.
Free AI gives small nudges only. Mentor/Lifetime AI gives much stronger hints, methodology, and step-by-step learning help while still refusing illegal hacking.
Meeps, shop, and power-ups
Your Meep is your companion/avatar. Customize body type, skin tone, eyes, starter hair, bought hairstyles, outfits, pants, shoes, accessories, pets, auras, and weapons.
Spend coins in the shop, buy power packs, equip a battle loadout, then use power-ups in Arena to remove choices, add time, block mistakes, boost rank, or double coin rewards.

FAQ
Are my login credentials safe?
Yes. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — we never store plain text. Google and Discord sign-in use OAuth, so we never receive your Google or Discord password. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
How do I reset my password?
Use Forgot password on the login page. We email a secure link that expires in 1 hour. Google sign-in accounts should use Google to log in.
I didn't get the reset email
Check spam, wait a few minutes, and confirm you used the same email as registration. Join Discord #support if it still doesn't arrive.
How does the free trial work?
New accounts get 24 hours of full access — all levels, AI tutor, coins, and your Byte Meep. After that, levels 1–25 stay free; upgrade for the full map.
Where do I get help on a level?
Use the AI Hint tab inside any level, ask in Discord #level-help, or visit /ai-tutor for the full mentor chat.
How do I get the @Buyer role on Discord?
Create a @Buyer role in your server, copy its Role ID into DISCORD_BUYER_ROLE_ID in .env, then link Discord on the site (Settings or sign in with Discord). After any purchase, the bot auto-assigns @Buyer.
How do coins and the shop work?
Earn coins by completing levels, winning arena duels, and achievements. Spend them in the shop on cosmetics and weapons, then equip items in /meeps. Buy more coins or skin packs at /shop?tab=coins or /shop?tab=packs.
Is this real hacking?
No. CodeQuester is 100% educational with simulated labs. Only test systems you own or have written permission to assess. See /terms for full rules including no exploiting.
What counts as exploiting or cheating?
Coin/XP glitches, bypassing trials or paywalls, bots, API abuse, sharing full quiz answers, or arena match manipulation. Report bugs privately in #support — don't share exploit steps publicly.
